PAIRS / DUETS

Beginner, Advance

Performed by 2 people with 1 baton each.

The incorporation of acrobatic/gymnastic movements adapted to baton twirling may be added to create additional elements of risk and excitement.   

Athlete may enter two Pair / Duet if in a different levels or age division with another partner as long as they are not competing against themself.

Two athletes performing at one time simultaneously, mirror image or feature moves with one another while employing an innovative routine.  Routine involving vertical and horizontal patterns, right and left hand dexterity which is adjudicated for its variety and difficulty of aerials, rolls, contact material, etc, with speed, flexibility, control, smoothness of baton, gracefulness of body movements.  Exchanges, pair work, precision, unison, technique, staging, showmanship with artistic expression, and combinations moves stationary or with movement, uniquely designed for pair/duet are major components. 

Timing begins at Salute or Pose and ends with Salute or Pose.

SCHOOL SOLO  

One Level

 

0-13, 14-18, Collegiate

Field routine, 1 baton and/or optional equipment.

No fire or knives.

Timing begins at Salute or Pose and ends with Salute or Pose.

FREESTYLE / RHYTHMIC  

Beginner, Advance

 

0-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17+

1 baton routine choreographed to music of athletes choice, no props.

Timing begins on first note and ends on last note of music.

DANCE TWIRL SOLO   

Beginner, Advance

 

0-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17+

Interpretative dance and twirl to TM chosen music with one baton.

Music timed.  Copy of music is on the website.

FREESTYLE / RHYTHMIC PAIR

Add both athletes ages together to determine your Pairs/Duets Age group.

 

One Level

29+  Senior

Routine performed by 2 people with 1 baton each choreographed to music of athletes choice, no props.

Timing begins on first note and ends on last note of music.

Photos must be SENT to Twirl Mania with entry and picked up Saturday afternoon of event. Vertical 5X7 Color or B/W.

Please label photos with Name/Age on back.

Combination of one or more: Flag, Pom, Dance, Rifle, Sabre, Ribbon, Hoop, Batons and hand held props.

Routines choreographed to athletes choice of music.

Timing begins on first note of music and ends on last note.

Dance only; NO PROPS.

 

 

TWIRL MANIAC CHALLENGE

 

Solo 33%, 2-Baton 33.3%, Dance Twirl 33.3%

Tie broken by: Dance Twirl Solo

 

 

TWIRL MANIAC CHALLENGE

An invitational event for athletes around the world that placed in the Top 8 at their National Championships in solo or two baton in the Beginner or Intermediate divisions. 

Athletes can also qualify based on their performance at Twirl Mania the previous year in Pageant, Solo, or Two Baton.

Athletes compete at their ACTUAL AGE during the event.

Solo & 2-Baton timing begins at Salute or Pose to ending Salute or Pose.

Dance Twirl timing begins on first note and ends on last note of music.

Acrobatic/Gymnastic movements may be adapted to routines create additional elements of excitement if properly taught.. 

There are three age groups:  10-12 Pre-Teen, (stand alone, no finals)

13-15 Junior, 16+ Senior.  The Top 5 finalists in each group will be awarded. The Top 3 Jr and top 3 Sr will advance to finals on Sunday

First place Overall will receive a $200.00 Cash Scholarship, Plus other special awards.

An Invitation even for athletes placing in the top 8 at their Nationals from around the World in Solo, Strut, 2 or 3 Baton, Freestyle, Rhythmic, Medley, Artistic DT, or Pageant in the Advance or Elite levels.
